Let's Go Red Sox, Let's Go!!

Saturday night we went to the Red Sox vs Astros game!! Leroy and Grandma came along with us too! We had great seats and Ladybug had a blast!! We even made it to the end through Freedom Fireworks!!
Here we go!!

Bug is too excited for her favorite Red Sox player!!

Big Papi!

Being silly with Dad!

Showing her team spirit!

Bug with her Leroy

Yes Drayton, we wasted money on a hot dog. We also bought two beers for $15. Maybe you could turn the air on a bit earlier next time!

Grandma and Leroy

Freedom Fireworks!

Too Loud!

Too Loud! But she LOVED the fireworks!!

They put on a pretty good show!

We survived!

Please, Don't Be Like Mom

Make no mistake, I love my job and couldn't think of any career path that is as challenging, rewarding, and ever evolving as nursing. BUT, I don't want Bug to do what I did just because it is something she is familiar with. I don't wish sore backs, difficult shifts and "the patient is always right" on my child. I don't want her to find humor in the statements like..."There is a special place in hell for the inventor of the call light" :) I guess time will tell...

Ladybug has been telling me lately..."Going to work Mom?", "Yes Bug, Mom has to go to work.", "Make money Mom?", "Yep, Mom's got to make money Bug", "Stay home with me Mom?". Then she proceeds to find my scrub tops and pick out which one I will wear that night.

One night last week she wanted to "get dressed too, mom", so she put on my old scrub top, work shoes and found her stethoscope and blood pressure cuff. Too Cute!

Father's Day For Grandpa Frank

Last weekend we had lunch with Grandpa Frank for a late Father's Day get together. Ladybug told everyone who would listen "Happy Father's Day Grandpa Trank!". Fr's and L's seem to be a tough one for her :)

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day!! I think Tim did pretty well this year for Father's Day. Ladybug was sooo excited this week...
All of Dad's gifts wouldn't fit in this little bag...

Dad and Ladybug

Leroy, Bug and Dad

Dad's real present, a day late...Bug was saying "Getting New Truck?!" all week long...

It is so funny to see Bug next to the truck! The first time she saw it she said "Tiny?"

Just like her mom...

Hope everyone had a wonderful Father's Day!!

Bye-Bye Curls...Hello Ringlets!

The day had finally come. Ladybugs curls were deemed unruly. We took Bug for her first haircut today! She was so excited and proud that she was getting her hair "clipie-clipied" like Mom and Dad do.

Auntie Ann and Grammy came along for the fun. Grammy showed up with envelopes of hair from Auntie Ann's first haircut in 1978 and mine in 1980. We didn't open the yellow paper envelopes but its nice to know that they were kept. Interesting fact...Ziplocs weren't around back then, hence the discolored aged paper envelope :) Thanks Grammy!

Getting ready for the big event!!

She was so proud!

This is really neat!!

Cheese!

Is that my hair on the floor??

I get a surprise too??!!

Showing off her new cut with Auntie Ann at lunch.

Vegas!!

Tim and I took our first trip since before the Bug was born!! Leroy and Grandma moved into our house this past Saturday to care for Bug, Anna and Walter so Tim and I could get away to Las Vegas!! Tim attended a conference for work so we just extended the trip to include a little vacation!! A couple of my favorite gal pals came along to keep me company while Tim was at the conference.

As always we drank and ate WAY TO MUCH!! We enjoyed great friends and loved Aria where we stayed. We all had a grand time and already have the next getaway in mind. We didn't hit it big so I will be returning to work next week and Tim tomorrow as planned. (unless the retirement plan comes early...aka lotto)

Bug did wonderful with Leroy and Grandma. We checked in once a day and it is just too funny to have a conversation with her over the phone. On one call I asked what she was doing and she told me "cookin' macaroni", I asked if it was good and she told me it was "all gone", I then asked where Leroy and Grandma were and she told me "all gone too". I cracked up. Below are a few videos and pics. Looks like Bug had her share of homemade chocolate ice cream. They also built a gingerbread house...she liked the icing :) That's my Bug!!

Where Did May Go??

Holy Cow!!! What in the world happened to the month of May?! This month was crazy busy!!
Here is a bit of our May happenings that had photo ops...
Zack came over for a play date, chillin' at the park

Eating snow cones, bottoms up!

We can get each other wet!!

Click to see Zack running around "sliding". Ladybug thought he hurt himself so she kept saying "hold you". This is what she tells us when she hurts herself.

Click to see Zack and Ladybug playing in the Octopus Sprinkler.

Back to the Zoo with the Wisbrocks. The Houston Zoo opens an hour early the first Saturday of each month for members. If you are a member you have to take advantage of this!!! We got to see the animals in a entirely different way! They were all so active!!

The lions playing...looked like fighting but it was awesome!! One even jumped into the water to get a fish!

Ladybug on her "round and round"

Mother's Day. Dad and Bug did it up perfect!
