SeaWorld 2011

Road Trip time again!! We decided to be adventurous and take our Ladybug to SeaWorld again!! This time it was hotter than hot and our little Ladybug was Miss Independent!! Holy Cow!!

We tackled it in two days this time. The first day we hit all the shows and stayed on the ridged "SeaWorld Show Timeline of Events", this was a tough day with the Bug. On the second day we let our Bug sleep in as she always does, 9:30am, a bit early but it's vacation right!? We headed to the park and did all the interactive things which she loved!! Then we headed back to "Hotel Home" and napped for 2 hours. Yay! Then back to the park for an evening at Bay of Play. Day two was so much easier!

We made it there and back in one piece and plan to make the trek again in October for Halloween as we did last year when it is cooler. Bug had a great time and we can't wait to do it again!
Bug with her "M-O-M"(she spells it out), Thanks Grammy!

Ladybug's thinks it is so funny to call Dad, "Tim"

Being silly waiting on Dad to get passes.

Our Ladybug the ham!

Cheese!!

Bug loves to sing "Baby Beluga" so she related to the Dolphin Beluga show this time. Pick look familiar??

Flamingos were a favorite.

Baby Shamu!! He has come a long way since October! Very Cute!

The music was "Too Loud"

Yep, we had our share of breakdowns...Next time you see Bug ask her about Police Men :)

The sea lion show making fun of Elmo...

Our silly Bug in her new Sunglasses. Yes Auntie Ann, she looks blind :)

This is where our "good parenting" comes in. Ask Bug why you can't run around in a parking lot..."you get hit by a truck" is her answer. And what happens when you don't get in your car seat right away..."police man will take Mom away". Yep, that's my girl! Works every time!

She can be so sweet :)

She loved feeding the dolphins!! These guys aren't scared! Glad she wasn't either.

Watching the Sting Ray Feeding

Sea lion time!

This one thought he was a Shark

Feeding time with Dad!

Bay of Play~

Watching the Sesame Street show, always a winner!

"Round and Round" time!

Getting dizzy

Water time! Not quite ready to get wet yet...

Ready!

We don't think this was the use they had in mind. Somebodies fingers are going to get stuck!

Time to head back to "Hotel Home" as she called it

Last Shamu pick of the trip!

Little Ballerina

Ladybug started dance class yesterday! She had the best time! She is a bit late joining the class as it started a few weeks ago but she picked up on it pretty quick! It is just too cute to watch them.

Thanks Stephanie and Adalyn for the the idea!!

Potty Training Help!

I know I have asked many for tips on potty training, but we need help!! Bug is soo ready to do this! For the past two days we have been wearing big girl panties...only two accidents. Yay!! No not really...My little ladybug is holding it for more than 6 hours!! She drinks juice and water all day and still holds it!! Today she held it all afternoon then when we went outside to play with the pups she tinkled on the patio!!! Excuse me...flooded out the patio!

She tells us she needs to potty so we run to the potty get all set and Nothing Happens!! We give her surprises for telling us, promise her all sorts of things if she would just make the potty sing!!! And nothing!! She does the potty dance, we ask her is she needs to go she runs to the potty and NOTHING!!!

The second we put her pull up on for bed...she goes! Please help! We even had her throw all her diapers away so she knows its big girl panties from here out!

The funniest part is she walks around all day saying "don't tinkle on Abby", "don't tinkle on Elmo", "don't poop on Abby". She has Sesame Street panties :)

Happy 4th of July!!

Happy 4th of July!!

Ours was pretty low key...Ladybug has been sleeping in till 10:30am lately so we took advantage and slept in with her :) Then we headed to Star Pizza to meet Auntie Ann, Jonathan and Grammy for lunch! Yum!! We did a bit of running around then decided it was too hot so home we went. Picked up the house a bit then had a good ol' American Hot Dog dinner followed by Banana Splits!! Can't beat that!

At about 9pm we decided we wanted to go see fireworks so we joined the rest of the Masses and headed north up Hwy 288. Unlike the other not so smart Houstonians that park in the unprotected median of 288 with there kids sitting on tailgates we found a nice Luby's parking lot on MacGregor and 288 :) A short time later we found out we couldn't see the fireworks from our vantage point so we headed out again Northbound on 288. After a short tour of the Harris County Psychiatric facilities and Houston's 4th or 5th ward Ladybug saw her fireworks :) So much for spontaneity!

Dad and Bug looking for the fireworks

Still no fireworks!!

After our tour, the Ladybug sleeps

Let's Go Red Sox, Let's Go!!

Saturday night we went to the Red Sox vs Astros game!! Leroy and Grandma came along with us too! We had great seats and Ladybug had a blast!! We even made it to the end through Freedom Fireworks!!
Here we go!!

Bug is too excited for her favorite Red Sox player!!

Big Papi!

Being silly with Dad!

Showing her team spirit!

Bug with her Leroy

Yes Drayton, we wasted money on a hot dog. We also bought two beers for $15. Maybe you could turn the air on a bit earlier next time!

Grandma and Leroy

Freedom Fireworks!

Too Loud!

Too Loud! But she LOVED the fireworks!!

They put on a pretty good show!

We survived!

Please, Don't Be Like Mom

Make no mistake, I love my job and couldn't think of any career path that is as challenging, rewarding, and ever evolving as nursing. BUT, I don't want Bug to do what I did just because it is something she is familiar with. I don't wish sore backs, difficult shifts and "the patient is always right" on my child. I don't want her to find humor in the statements like..."There is a special place in hell for the inventor of the call light" :) I guess time will tell...

Ladybug has been telling me lately..."Going to work Mom?", "Yes Bug, Mom has to go to work.", "Make money Mom?", "Yep, Mom's got to make money Bug", "Stay home with me Mom?". Then she proceeds to find my scrub tops and pick out which one I will wear that night.

One night last week she wanted to "get dressed too, mom", so she put on my old scrub top, work shoes and found her stethoscope and blood pressure cuff. Too Cute!

Father's Day For Grandpa Frank

Last weekend we had lunch with Grandpa Frank for a late Father's Day get together. Ladybug told everyone who would listen "Happy Father's Day Grandpa Trank!". Fr's and L's seem to be a tough one for her :)
