All Her Cuteness...

Bug has a few new favorite past times...spinning and hopping/jumping. It is too funny! The hopping is almost there and the jumping is how our Ladybug entertains herself in her crib...all you hear is the thud, thud, thud on the mattress followed by baby giggles.
Bug gets a bit dizzy after a few spins...
The end is classic...
Tim has always loved Gap 1969 Jeans...
Now they carry them in Bugs size! Daddy's Girl!

Technology

It amazes me the things that our Ladybug will not experience due to advances in technology. Getting up to change the channel on a TV that was huge and clunky looking with a blurry picture that was never blurry till you got a new one and saw the difference; driving 18 hours in the car with no TV, iPod's...how bout that good ol' 8 track?

Tim and I saw a little boy a few weeks ago with an iPad and it absolutely amazed us how fast he navigated through the apps and how it was so natural to him. After telling my mom about this kid and how Bug won't know what it's like to listen to the radio for hours just to hit record at the perfect time to get your favorite song on tape, my mom borrowed an iPad from work to see what Bug would do with it. What a hit!! We had one rule though...she was only allowed to hold it by herself on carpet. She picked up what to do with this new technology so fast! She played games with our assist and she really enjoyed the books that it read to her. AMAZING! I guess the Christmas list has its first item.

Our Silly Bug

Ladybug has become quite the little clown these days. If she isn't saying "Uh-Oh" to something she is mimicking what you are doing. Her latest is telling Walter to "Ay" as she holds her hand out in front of her. Think we tell Walter to "Stay" a lot? It is too funny.

A fun little event that occurred today...Let me set the scene for you...
After Hurricane Ike, our fence fell down and damaged our gutter on the side of the house. Well, 2 years has gone by and nobody has come to fix it. Damn Government, I thought they gave things away for free? Must only be to those who don't pay their taxes. :)

Anyways, it was minimal damage to the downspout but Tim and I had been putting it off. We finally bought a new downspout and so I had it laying in the garage freshly painted and ready to hang while Bug took her morning nap. We decided to reorganize our garage hanging system after Ladybug woke so she was tooling around the garage as Tim and I tag teamed the project. Well, I still had the foam brush I was using to paint the gutter out and didn't think much of it as Bug ran around with it.

I turned around to see my little ladybug painting my car! I had Ivory Latex paint on my passenger side door! I screamed "NO BUG!", Then Tim yelled "Bug!" Bug dropped the brush so fast and looked like a deer in headlights...I was running for a damp rag to clean the car and all you heard was Ladybug whaling through the neighborhood. It was truly a classic moment to remember.

Songs That Stick...

I've embedded a few of Ladybug's favorite videos at the bottom of the page. She loves to dance to these two songs...

Good luck getting them out of your head! You may have to pause the automatic player at the bottom to get the full affect!

Butterflies

Grandpa Frank came over today and we went to the Cockrell Butterfly Center at the HMNS then out to lunch. We hadn't been to the Butterfly Center in years and we thought The Bug would enjoy it and did she!! She just looked up at all the butterflies flying around. They were beautiful! We saw Lois the Corpse Flower that was supposed to bloom weeks ago that still hasn't and a bunch of orchids growing naturally in the bends of trees. This was frustrating because it takes an act of God to keep ours alive in the kitchen!
Orchid naturally rooted to the tree...amazing!

Lois the Corpse Flower...she doesn't smell yet!

Wow! Butterflies!

The humidity was killer in there!

Flying with Grandpa!

Watching a squirrel with Dad.

Walking to lunch with Grandpa.

Addison has been lifting things lately that seem to heavy for her, so we think. Last week it was a unopened box of Capri-Sun and this week it was 20+ bottles of Gatorade. Kroger has a killer deal on Gatorade this week...$0.50 a bottle...you can see we stocked up for the second time this week. Bug loves to help sort the groceries and she loves coupons!

Vacation at Home

Tim and I both had vacation time to use so I took off Thursday through Tuesday and Tim took of Friday through Tuesday! We decided to vacation at home! NO HOUSE PROJECTS!! (Last time we took off a week together we threw down 7 yards of mulch and 2 yards of top soil! To say the least we needed a vacation to recover after that!
So we vacationed around good ol' Houston! Friday we did our running around and Friday night we went to the Astros vs Cardinals game in hopes to see Stephens younger brother Nick get some playing time in his hometown.
Giving everyone kisses

How many stadium pics do we have?

On Saturday, we went swimming and Bug got to spend some time with Leroy and Grandma while we went on a date! We had a great time as did The Bug! Thanks Leroy and Grandma!
Sunday, we hit another Astros game this time with seats that Stephen gave us. We usually get cheap seat and then stand so Ladybug doesn't drive everyone crazy in the seats. Well, the seats were great! Thanks Stephen! Bug was crazy so we eventually moved her up to the lobby so she could stretch her legs. It took both of us to keep up with her! Then, we drove out to see Grammy and have dinner. We were exhausted when we got home! She was something to keep up with!
Bug counts 1,2,3...the pitcher always throws on 3 :)

Stadium pic with Mom
Monday, I had a doctors appointment so Tim spent the morning with The Bug and when I got home we took Addison to the Moody Gardens Aquarium. Boy did she have a blast!
We practiced what a fish says, while Dad bought tickets...
Waving at all the fish!

Wow!
Being silly together
Rest break for Dad :)
Watching the seals...
Sitting watching the Penguins
Addison loved the penguins! To make it even funnier she kept running into the glass like the Windex commercials. She's got one tough melon!
After the Aquarium we took Ladybug to the Candy Store on The Strand! She loved it!
She kept bending over to pick up the candy and kept hitting the glass, she couldn't figure it out.
Cherry Phosphate! No worries, Bug didn't get any.

Chocolate Malt! Mmmmm!
Mmmmmm...

Chillin' with Dad

Sleepy girl
Tuesday, Bug will have to hang with Dad most of the day, I have the dreaded MD Anderson appointments marathon day! What joy! Don't forget to wear your sunscreen! You can easily avoid wasted days like these!

July 4th Weekend

Happy Independence Day!! Late of course :) We had a fun weekend of just hanging out around the house. Saturday Grammy came and spent the day with Ladybug and Saturday night we had some friends over for playtime and to watch the UFC fight. Lesnar won of course and the kiddos had a great time! Sunday we hung our flags, which Bug LOVED waving her little flags around then she discovered how fun it is to run down the driveway into the street! What fun for mom and dad! Then we hung out at the pool for a good part of the day. Ladybug enjoyed swimming, we even dunked her this time...she did really good. She was one cranky Bug after the pool so it was early bed for her. She went to bed at 7pm and didn't wake till 10am! She was out! I'll take that any day! Hope everyone had a great holiday!

Miss Annette loves to ride around in the Happy Tunes Coupe!
